Father Arrested For Lying To Cops About His Son’s Death

Philadelphia Police arrested Edward Williams for his role in his son’s death.  Williams is a felon and cannot be in possession of a gun, police said. .  On Thursday , January 30, 2020 Williams called police to report that his son was killed in a violent home invasion. Almost from the start, investigators did not believe his story.  The house was not in any disarray, there were no signs of a break in and no signs of a struggle.

After a series of intense questioning by police,   Williams was charged with Recklessly Endangering   Another Person (M2), Corruption of Minors (M1), Unsworn Falsification to Authorities (M2), Tampering with Evidence (M2), and Obstructing Justice (M2). A judge set bail at $2 million and the next listing for this case has been scheduled for February 19th in courtroom 306 of the Juanita Kidd Stout Center for Criminal Justice.

There had been no home invasion. Police said Williams made up the story to cover for the fact that the child found a gun inside the residence and accidentally shot himself.  Bail has been set at $2 million
