One male was critically injured following a two vehicle accident on the 7700 block of New Falls Road.  Police said that a car was traveling towards Falls Twp. when for unknown reasons, the driver swerved into the path of a box truck. The car then continued down the side of the truck, after hitting it , ripping part of the vehicle like a sardine can.  That also caused the car the fold up in certain spots and trapped the driver.  Rescue crews went in service with hydraulic tools to free him.

The driver of the box truck also sustained an injury.  The crash happened just after 5;00 AM and forced  the closure of New Falls Road  until 9:30 AM.  To compound matters, the tow trucks had a hard time removing the box truck due to the damage done to it.  The crash happened right in front of the Verizon building.. The road is one lane in each direction in that area.  no other vehicles were involved, police said.
